I am thinking after rotation (when Dragons Exalted comes out) to build a Darkrai EX and Hydreigon deck, the list goes like this:
3-1-3 Hydreigon (Dragons Exalted)
3 Darkrai EX
1 Shaymin EX
1 Sigilyph (Dragons Exalted)
4 Professor Juniper
4 Pokemon Catcher
3 Rare Candy
2 Level Ball
3 Max Potion
3 Ultra Ball
2 Random Reciever
3 Dark Patch
8 Darkness Energy
4 Blend Energy (Dragons Exalted)
Well of course you can make a few tweaks here and there but this deck won the Japanese Nationals so it must be a good deck to play.
So what do the new cards do?
Hydreigon – Dragon – HP150 Stage 2 – Evolves from Zweilous
Ability: Dark Trance
As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may move a Darkness Energy attached to 1 of your Pokemon to another of your Pokemon.
[P][D][D][C] Dragon Blast: 140 damage. Discard 2 Darkness Energy attached to this Pokemon.
Weakness: Dragon (x2)
This card Is mainly a tech card for moving energy about (sort of like Shaymin from HS Unleashed) but also is a good attacker with a fair 140 damage which will 1-shot most competitive stage 2’s which will come out in the next set.
Sigilyph – Psychic – HP90 Basic Pokemon
Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Sigilyph by your opponent’s Pokemon-EX.
[P][C][C] Psychic: 50+ damage. Does 10 more damage for each Energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon.
Weakness: Psychic (x2)
This is the card to use against Mewtwo EX because of its ability ‘Safeguard’ so Mewtwo’s Xball will have no effect on Sigilyph and its great attack ‘Psychic’ which allows you to do an extra 10 more damage for each energy on their defending pokemon + the X2 weakness on Mewtwo EX, which will deal A LOT of damage!!! So this card is a must in this deck for those odd Mewtwo match-ups.
I am really looking forward to playing this deck. Why don’t you give it a try too - you can use proxies for the Darkrai, Hydreigon and the other cards if you don’t have them.
